Trainee Concrete Operative

Activus Recruitment have an excellent opportunity a **Trainee Concrete Operative **to join our clients established Civils and Construction firm based in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire.

As a Trainee Concrete Operative, you will work under the direction of experienced concrete mixing and pouring professionals to learn the skills necessary to operate specialized machinery and equipment and produce high-quality concrete for various construction projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Learn how to carry out various tasks including concrete pours, shuttering, steel fixing, laying insulation, groundworks and general site works by following instructions and working alongside fellow operatives to learn each task.
- Operate equipment such as pokers, powerfloats, screeders, stihl saws and hand tools
- Observe experienced team members during the concrete pouring process and learning the skills to carry out work to a high standard.
- Follow instructions ensuring you adhere to health and safety procedures including method statements and risk assessments
- Work alongside other trades and subcontractors onsite and learn how to ensure programmed works are completed on time
- Participate in ongoing training and development to improve your knowledge and skills in concrete operations
- Learn how to carry out concrete pre-pour checks and quality documentation

**Requirements**:

- Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
- Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects
- Comfortable working in outdoor environments and in all types of weather conditions
- Basic understanding of math and measurement principles
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and machinery

**Training and Development**:
This entry-level position offers extensive on-the-job training and development opportunities, including mentoring by experienced operators.
As you gain experience and develop your skills, you may have the opportunity to take on more responsibilities and advance in your career as a Concrete Operative.

A drivers licence is advantageous as travel to various sites will be required.
