Our roots are enshrined within children and families work; Carter Brown was set up by two Children’s Guardians in 2001, capturing the demand for a high quality service, offering specialised expert witness assessments for family law cases.

Since this time we have developed, diversified, and expanded our services across the UK to become the largest provider of multidisciplinary assessments, widening our specialism to include reporting directly to Local Authorities and within Criminal Law, Asylum and Immigration, Mental Health Tribunals, Panels and Pre Proceedings.

**HOW DOES INDEPENDENT WORK AT CARTER BROWN?**

Our Paediatricians complete remote and/or face to face assessments, full time, part time or the odd assessment here and there. Your designated Case Handler sends you over all the information you need from letter of instructions through to any report templates. Our Referrals team take all the hard work out of finding the work yourself and actually contact you for the work that is available

You can pick and choice and personalise the work you would like to undertake, how much work you would like and where you would like the work.

We also have a Quality Assurance team that reads all your reports before they go out to the parties, acting as a safety net for you to check things like grammar and punctuation, as well as the structure, formatting and content.

- Administrative support from a dedicated and experienced Case Handler.
- Guaranteed 45-day payment terms - we take on both the worry and the debt in respect of collecting your assessment fees from clients. We pay you within our agreed timescales irrespective of when we are paid. We employ a department responsible for all invoicing and credit control so you can focus on your next piece of work, rather than chasing fees.
- We provide regular FREE training days for our associates to support your CPD.
- We ensure that all your documentation (personal indemnity insurance, DBS check and practising certificates) are kept up to date. We can also facilitate DBS checks for you where required.
