**Purpose of the Position**

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Day to day management of allocated Estimating workload
- Support Sales & Account Management teams in the preparation of quotations and tender submissions
- Determine if the information supplied is adequate to prepare an accurate quotation or tender submission and identify any ‘high risk’ concerns and queries with salesperson
- Respond to Contracts/Project Managers’ queries about the build-up of estimates to assist them in monitoring and managing actual costs.
- Identify any projects requiring full cost review and arrange review meetings with relevant stakeholders.
- ERP configuration, maintenance & BOM creation as required
- Specialist repeat customer cost/specification management, to include creating price matrix for use by Account Managers
- Prepare detailed written quotations/manuals for the Sales Managers as required.
- Complete tender pricing schedules and liaise with sales and marketing staff on tender submission requirements.
- Work with Production on a regular basis to ensure labour hours used in Estimate & BOMs accurately reflect relevant operations.
- Ensure correct material costs are obtained from Procurement and request/instigate a full tender exercise for specific products and raw materials if required.
- Where required attend sales to project office handover meetings to assist in passing relevant information to project delivery team
- Liaise with Procurement regarding cost and availability of non-standard items required for Estimate
- Investigate significant variances against the original BOM; where there are significant differences, arrange a review meeting with production or project office and work with relevant people to update BOM detail
- Work in line with requirements of our ISO 9001, 14001 & BS EN 1090 accreditations
- Work closely with counterpart at Kettering Office to provide synergy in the costing process between both sites and to provide holiday/absence cover as required
- Any other reasonable task which may be assigned by the Company from time to time

**Key Competencies**
- Numerate and Literate
- (Sign) Manufacturing, Engineering or Construction experience
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings & specifications
- Ability to use ERP system along with all key software packages including excel and outlook
- Commercial Acumen
- **Key Performance Indicators**
- Evaluate and prepare Standard quotations for repeat client customers within 2 (two) working days
- Evaluate new enquiries within 4 (four) working hours of receipt and issue any requests for further information and follow through to conclusion
- Evaluate a formal Tender within 2 (two) working days of receipt and issue any requests for further information and follow through to conclusion
- Engage with relevant colleagues to allow accurate estimating to be undertaken.
- Initiate mid tender review meetings if required
- Prepare Formal Tenders for review 2 (two) days before the submission deadline
- Prepare day to day Quotations within 3 (three) working days of receipt of all information
- Prepare reports for Board within 1 (one) working day of request, unless otherwise advised.
- Preparation of job costing analysis within 3 working days of project completion.
- Feedback any findings that would require BOMs to be updated.
