Underkeeper

Experienced Underkeeper required for large, private shooting estate near Arundel and Chichester, West Sussex.

In this role you’ll be assisting our Head Keeper, in taking care of the safety and welfare of the animals, whilst ensuring that health and safety is always maintained.

This is a full time position with accommodation available.

**The position**

To assist the Head Keeper in producing an excellent shoot for family and customers as well as managing vermin and the general environment of the estate.
- Have a pro-active approach and positive attitude to work
- Previous Experience of conservation and excellent bird husbandry
- The ability to establish and develop working relationships
- Be Flexible/adaptable
- Honest, reliable and committed
- Have a friendly and approachable manner
- Able to do what can be a physical outdoor job
- Working dogs and a firearm certificate are essential

To assist the Head Keeper in the following duties:

- Rearing from poults
- Estate management and upkeep
- Running shoot days
- Feeding game birds
- Deer, Fox, Squirrel and other Vermin Control
- Woodland management
- Security of the estate
- Maintaining health and safety at all times
- All other duties that may arise within the wider estate business

The position requires flexibility to meet the needs and requirements of the estate throughout the seasons.
