Set amid rolling farmland in Leicestershire, **Melton Mowbray Golf Club** is just 30 minutes from Leicester and Nottingham and 15 minutes from the A1. The friendly Members’ Club was originally founded in 1925 as a 9 hole course. It was extended to 18 holes in the 1980s and has matured into a challenging but fair test of golf.

An outstandingly picturesque parkland course, lined with a diversity of tree species, this challenging course has been enjoyed by all standards of golfer for generations.

We are looking for an ambitious and highly motivated **Assistant Greenkeeper** to assist the Course Manager, and join a hard-working team of greenkeepers and artisans in pushing the golf course forward, to enhance and future proof the golf club for years to come.

**Required Skills and Experience**
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Sport Turf Management.
- Minimum of 2 years of greenkeeping experience preferred.
- Ability to help organize routine golf course maintenance and golf course projects, in accordance with the Club’s Golf Course Maintenance and H&S policies.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Am acceptable knowledge of course preparation and set up.
- Competent in the use and maintenance of a wide variety of machinery.
- A positive and flexible approach to work.
- Fully competent in monitoring and maintaining H&S in the workplace.
- PA1, PA2 & PA6 qualifications - Desirable.
- Chainsaw qualifications - Desirable.
- Keen to continue with personal development
- A full driving license.
- A keen eye for detail

**Duties will include**:

- To assist the Course Manager in the preparation and maintenance of the Golf Course to the highest possible standard.
- Weekend and Bank Holiday work is carried out on a rota basis throughout the year.
- Mowing banks, rough and semi-rough, surrounds and approaches, tees, greens and fairways and other general work.
- Undertaking other appropriate duties as required by the Course Manager.
