**Role description and responsibilities**:
Filtermist supports its customers by providing them and their employees with clean air solutions - protecting people by ensuring cleaner, safer, more productive working environments. The Buyer Planner shall be responsible for ensuring timely procurement of materials while overseeing and coordinating all aspects of production scheduling and inventory control to ensure efficient and timely production processes to meet customer demands. The Buyer Planner will possess strong analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and supply chain management expertise.

**Main Duties will include**:

- Production Scheduling: - Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands while optimising resource utilisation and minimising lead times.
- Standard Work: - Ensure timely placement of Purchase Orders and Work Orders for external and internal replenishment of materials.
- Data Accuracy: - Ensure timely execution of Opera parameter reviews and update of the system to reflect suggested MOQ, Safety Stock and Reorder Points.
- Just-in-Time: - Oversees maintenance of Pull Systems and other replenishment methods to ensure continuous flow of components for the production streams to manufacture on-time within customer requirement.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Inventory Management: - Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to ensure adequate stock levels while minimising excess inventory and associated costs.
- Coordination: - Collaborate with various departments including production, procurement, logistics, and sales to coordinate production schedules, material availability, and delivery timelines.
- Forecasting: - Analyse sales demand, forecasts, production capacity, and historical data to predict future production requirements and proactively address potential bottlenecks or shortages.
- Continuous Improvement: - Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements within the Materials planning control function and implement relevant solutions.
- Documentation: - Maintain accurate records and documentation related to production schedules, inventory levels, and production performance metrics.
- Communication: - Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to provide updates on production status, address any issues or concerns, and ensure alignment with organisational goals.

**Experience**:

- To be seriously considered for this role, please ensure you have the following:
**Experience**:

- Considerable experience in similar role working in a production / manufacturing environment.
- Make to Order and Make to Stock planning experience.
- Experience using Opera or other MRP system as well as ‘pull’ visual manufacturing systems.
- Understands EBQ, MTO, ROP, MPS, MRP etc.., philosophies.
- Ability to maintain a holistic overview of the delivery plan considering lead time & cost.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude to new ideas and approaches.
- Able to accept ownership and accountability for the tasks assigned.
- Proficiency in computer programs such as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Acute attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Working knowledge of SME culture and practices.

**Education**:

- Qualification in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
