Healthcare Assistant required for the Macmillan Windmill Clinic at Blackpool Teaching Hospital.

The Macmillan Windmill clinic is looking for an enthusiastic person, that can support patients in the clinics, promoting a welcoming environment and a good patient experience.

In this role, you will need to be able to liaise with doctors in the clinics, and support during the appointments, as necessary. The role also involves assistance with some procedures, as bone marrows and central lines insertions. Training will be provided as necessary.

Macmillan Unit operates from Monday to Friday, no weekends or bank holidays.

You will support the Nursing team and Doctors team during the clinics.

Undertake basic administrative duties, answering telephones, using I.T systems.

Assist with medical procedures.

Communicating and supporting patients and their families.

Ensuring privacy and dignity is maintained for patients at all times.

Ensure trust standards are met.

Maintain confidentiality.

Work within own competence.

Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients.
