In partnership with patients and their family/carers, you will provide a person centred, holistic approach to care for those with long term, complex conditions where we aim to promote, provide and support foot health, maximise mobility and improve quality of life. Caseloads consist of a wide variety of clinical conditions including frail elderly orthopaedic rehabilitation, neurological rehabilitation and general adult rehabilitation. Long term conditions with multi-morbidity presentations are common.

You will provide direct clinical care which encompasses advanced podiatric assessment, treatment and management of patients, including risk management of diabetic foot pathologies, wound management, and falls prevention with risk assessments undertaken.

In addition, you will undertake new patient assessments, including** **telephone and ‘Near Me’ consultations and formulate care plans based upon patient’s aims and goals.

You will undertake minor surgical procedures (nail surgery) and assist & support the locality team in reviewing and developing specific clinical pathway guidelines & standard operating procedures.

You will also be required to supervise and support junior staff, Podiatry Assistants & Healthcare Assistant and student placements.

You will be based within East HSCP, and on occasions be expected to work across all three NHS Ayrshire & Arran Health & Social Care Partnerships.

You will have HCPC registration and possess a B.Sc. in Podiatric Medicine or equivalent.

You must have significant Post Graduate experience; capable of working autonomously and provide high quality patient care. Applications are invited from clinicians who have a broad range of clinical skills for the above post based within the defined HSCP Podiatry Service

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as is the ability to work flexibly and respond to the changing needs of the service.

IT skills are essential

The service provides excellent CPD support and offers the opportunity to work within a progressive Podiatry Service and Team that delivers quality podiatric care.

A car driver is essential.
