**About the role**:
We're looking for positive, passionate people to help combat the criminal activities that plague the insurance industry, our successes directly contribute to our customers premiums, keeping AXA a market-leading insurance provider. Combating criminal activities in the Insurance industry, sounds awesome. This is done through our Counter Fraud department.

You'll be responsible for investigating all potentially fraudulent Commercial Motor claims from cradle to grave whilst maintaining effective and speedy investigations and demonstrating financial savings. You'll actively seek to enhance the counter-fraud capabilities of the Group to combat evolving fraud trends.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home at either our Haverhill or Bolton office.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Detect and prevent fraud against the Group to include suppliers, customers and third parties, acting individually or in concert as organised fraudsters
- Manage a portfolio of suspected fraudulent claims from basic to complex, organised fraud rings and managing the same until completion (repudiation or settlement) whilst working to the low-cost operating model
- Actively participate in strengthening counter-fraud capabilities, suggesting and devising new processes, procedures, initiatives, systems and training to the business, with assistance from senior colleagues
- Adherence to the CFU Fraud strategy on case handling (investigation, repudiation, recoveries and sanctions process). Keeping up to date with developments
- Fully competent in handling all elements of the claim process to include personal injury, credit hire, theft, fire, liability, fraud and litigation
- Assist police in criminal prosecutions by preparing statements in accordance with relevant legislation and present evidence in court where required
- Analysing repudiation/ walkaway rates/ fraud savings to identify trends and suggest changes or opportunities

**About you**:
**What we’re looking for**:

- Practical Insurance claims experience essential
- Counter Fraud and Personal Injury claims experience desirable
- Knowledge of insurance principles and relevant case law, products, policies and claims philosophy desirable
- Awareness of broker / Corporate Partner environment and the importance of such relationships
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, perceptive and keen attention to detail is essential
- Knowledge of all pertinent legislation i.e. Fraud Act, POCA, RIPA, GDPR, FoI etc is desired
- Competent in the use of investigation tools such as GBG Investigate, Land Registry, social media etc
- Negotiation skills and use of tactics in managing injury claims
- Detailed end to end knowledge of claims process including quantum assessment and litigation procedures
- Willingness to partake in the Counter Fraud Investigator Apprenticeship

As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
