**Area Leader Principle Objectives**:
Ensuring optimal plant performance through effective scheduling of tasks and resources and adapting quickly to change, providing a high level of support to the team within your area.
- Ensure that production targets are met within agreed deadlines, making best use of resources and materials.
- Ensure that customers (internal and external) receive a quality service and a high standard of care, meeting agreed standards.
- Responsible for training, development and the overall performance of the team. Identifying training needs and performance issues, in order to support the business goals, objectives and plans.
- Effectively communicate with all colleagues on matters regarding production, quality, service, health, safety and people issues as necessary to maintain good employee relations.
- Drive the right first-time culture, ensuring quality of products and safe working practices to achieve this.
- To ensure that H&S policy and procedures, and HSE legislation are adhered to and carried out in order to provide a safe working environment for employees and visitors within the factory and actively promote a safety culture.
- Responsible for ensuring a positive food safety culture within the department through leadership and participating fully in site wide/cross department initiatives
- Experience working in a supervisory capacity of at least 1 year
- We aim to be audit ready every day, so someone who is meticulous, well organised and with a keen eye for detail who can work with the team to drive standards
- Strong communication skills are a must, with the ability to motivate and gain buy-in across all levels. Able to express views clearly and concisely, and share information in an open and helpful manner
- A self-starter, someone who is able to prioritise and manage their own workload and that of others, adjusting to changing demands as necessary, to ensure tasks are delivered as promised
- Effective decision making and problem-solving skills, knowing when to seek support or notify others of potential issues.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: £15.98 per hour
