To provide efficient and effective organization, supervision and management of domestic staff working within the central pool and to provide training and technical support to ward/departmental generic workers involved in cleaning duties.

Fully effective and efficient deployment of staff with the key outcome of the maintenance of safe, hygienic, tidy and clean, clinical and non clinical areas

Successful and effective programme of duties associated with staff management such as, recruitment, administration, training and development, appraisal

The checking and upkeep of all cleaning equipment and the maintenance of service/report schedules

Ensuring specified work is completed to a satisfactory standard by checking frequently the work in his/her area

To order, receive and issue stores and protective clothing to staff

Check correct use of all materials and equipment. Check that all equipment is in good working order and kept in a clean condition.

To carry out on the job training to all staff to ensure correct methods and working practices. To give sufficient close supervision and training to new staff until the required standard of work is achieved

To regularly complete quality control sheets in accordance with quality control procedures

To document all staff accidents and record details in the accident register

Responsible for issuing keys, key fobs as appropriate

To carry out on the job training to all staff to ensure correct methods and working practices. To give sufficient close supervision and training to new staff until the required standard of work is achieved

To regularly complete quality control sheets in accordance with quality control procedures

Reporting the need for structural and fabric repair

Assessment of new buildings and departments for the setting up of work schedules, costs, time and equipment required.

Any other duties as are deemed appropriate by the Management
