An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Preston City Council’s Parks team as a Park Ranger.

You will join a small team of Rangers working on the Council’s key open spaces. Your role will primarily be to the Ranger for Moor Park, a grade 2 listed park which has recently had significant investment and further restoration will be carried as part of the Councils Levelling Up Fund projects. You will also assist the rangers manage and maintain our other key openspaces when required.

We are seeking to appoint a confident, hardworking, assertive and customer focussed person to carry out duties that will include the delivery of volunteer-based activities and other parks events, a wide range of horticultural tasks and maintenance activities.

Your excellent communication skills will enable you to work positively with colleagues, and volunteers to make a visible difference to Preston City Council’s parks and openspaces.

The applicant must be enthusiastic, willing to learn and able to work well unsupervised or in a team.

The applicant will be required to work an average 37 hour per week with the actual hours being in accordance with the needs of the service including weekend, bank holiday and evening work required.

The roles will require working outdoors in all weather conditions.
