**The Role**:

The Apprentice Intelligence Officer will contribute to the receipt, analysis, sanitisation and delivery of high-quality intelligence information to colleagues in Trading Standards to enable them to deliver a successful service to the businesses and residents of Essex.

Whilst undertaking an apprenticeship within Essex County Council, you can expect to be supported from your first day. You’ll be invited to attend a specific onboarding event, have access to exclusive training material via My Learning platform, enrolled in the Apprenticeship Channel alongside colleagues on similar paths, invited to frequent gatherings, and offered peer-to-peer guidance. Additionally, you will have the chance to showcase your apprenticeship experience to external audiences. Apprenticeships are a valued career pathway to achieving your ambitions within Essex County Council, whilst gaining a qualification.

Our Level 4 Intelligence Analyst Apprenticeship is a higher-level apprenticeship which is equivalent to a foundation degree, a Higher National Certificate (HNC), or the first year of an undergraduate degree. As an Apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced professionals to develop a solid foundation in Trading Standards, while also contributing to the overall goals and objectives of the Essex County Council.

The Apprentice Intelligence Officer will collaborate with the team to ensure alignment to ECC’s strategic aims and objectives. The role will work in proximity with colleagues with the aim of developing knowledge and skills in intelligence analysis and Trading Standards to inform future strategies. You will play an integral role in supporting organisational objectives through a wide range of activities such as planning projects. Working collaboratively, flexibly and effectively communicating with people across the wider council, this role presents an opportunity to learn, whilst progressing towards a recognised professional qualification.

- Educated to RQF level 3 (‘A’ Levels), including Math’s and English to at least level NVQ 2, or equivalent by experience

- Good organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to colleagues in a concise, factual and unambiguous manner
