**Who are we?**

First Rail operates passenger services across four rail franchises, **Avanti West Coast (AWC)**, **Great Western Railway (GWR)**, **South Western Railway (SWR)** - plus our open access passenger services, **Hull Trains** and **Lumo**. We also operate **Tramlink** in Croydon on behalf of Transport for London and Heathrow Express with Heathrow Airport. In addition to the train operating companies (TOCs), First Rail includes:

- First Rail Holdings (FRH), a number of specialist teams such as Operations, Safety, Engineering, Finance, Property, IT and Human Resources - all of which provide expertise and support to the Rail Division.
- The **First Customer Contact Centre (FCC)** in Sheffield, delivering a range of support services for our passengers, from processing customer compensation claims and complaints to handling group bookings, ticket sales and requests for travel assistance.
- **Evolutionary Rail Ltd (Evo Rail)**, supplying data connectivity solutions for the international rail market. We have led one of the largest roll outs of free Wi-Fi on the UK rail network and are pioneering next generation 5G Wi-Fi technology which enables rapid and reliable internet connectivity on the railways.
- **Mistral Data Ltd**, supplying innovative data analytic systems for the rail market.

**About the job**

To lead and manage the Finance Applications team.

Act as a trusted technical advisor to the senior business stakeholders.

**Your main responsibilities will be**:
**Team Manager**

This will involve recruiting, developing and managing a team on an ongoing basis.

Setting their performance objectives and supporting development plans.

Also managing their workload on a daily basis through oversight of a helpdesk ticketing tool.

Managing a first line response support desk in line with SLAs

Working on projects and programmes as SME.

Work with suppliers and internal teams to manage system changes in a robust and compliant manner.

Supporting improved business practices and processes through an effective governance framework.

**Trusted technical advisor.**

Support senior stakeholders in developing strategy and improvement plans for their business areas.

Implement a governance framework to review issues, agree and implement best practice solutions.

Work with other teams in IT to advise on changes and deliver improvements.

**Supplier Management**

Manage supplier delivery to SLAs and contracts, build relationships and review service on a regular basis.
