Warehouse Assistant

We are a fruit, veg and dry goods wholesaler looking for an assistant to work alongside our warehouse manager.

Pay is £11.45 an hour (to rise in April) with an immediate start. You can also benefit from our healthcare plan (also covers any dependent children) and Nest Pension Scheme.

The business operates Mon - Sat and we are closed on Sundays. The role is full time 5 days a week with Tuesdays and Sundays off. The shifts start at 7am until approximately 3pm on weekdays but finishing times may vary. Saturdays are 6am to 2pm approximately.

Covering 3 warehouses, you will be carrying out day to day warehouse duties including:

- Receiving and putting away stock
- Stock rotation & quality control
- Organising and tidying the warehouse and the yard
- Performing food safety duties such as date checking and temperature checks
- Communicating with the office team and drivers.

We are looking for someone who can work independently and as part of a team, is willing to pay care and attention to food safety, is able to think on their feet and use their initiative.

You will need to be fit, enjoy physical work, be positive and open to learning new skills. We are very passionate about what we do, and the quality of our output is high.

Full training in our procedures will be given, and we ask that successful applicants take a Level 2 Food Safety course which we will pay for.

Forklift experience would be an advantage but not essential.

We ask that applicants have a full manual UK driving licence for moving our vans.
