We are currently looking for a Groundwork Maintenance Operative to join the team.

Also, carrying out planned preventative building maintenance in line with set programmes and undertake general facilities support tasks, including furniture building and furniture removals, grounds and site clearance, and keeping areas clean and tidy generally.

**Job Purpose**
The Day Services Manager will lead, manage and be responsible for the Day Services and all the activities undertaken within that service. The Day services manager will ensure the development of the day service in line with the organisations strategic vision; to achieve this the post holder will;
- Promote Autism Together’s philosophy, values and approaches to its autism specialist services.
- Ensure excellence in quality care delivery and safeguarding systems.
- Lead on quality assurance systems including internal and external monitoring processes.
- Ensure that the organisation supports individuals who have an autistic spectrum condition by using individualised proven autistic specific strategies in line with Autism Together’s Methodology, vision and values.
- Ensure that the principals of a person-centred approach are embedded in the service offer.
- Promote professional relationships with external agencies, and the family members and friends of the people we support.
- Lead on the day services strategy of opening services during the evenings and weekends to maximise the offer to people we support

**Main Responsibilities**

Ensuring excellence in day service delivery:

- To ensure that the Service Managers undertake the duties expected of them as set out on the Quality Framework standards.
- To ensure that Autism Together’s policies relating to the delivery of quality day services are disseminated through the Service Manager to all staff.
- To lead the day services quality audits, ensuring that the monitoring and inspection process develops the quality of the care experience for the people we support.
- To ensure that the health and well-being of all people we support is promoted and monitored.
- To ensure that the medical administration complies with all relevant legislation and guidance.
- To take part in the admissions process for new people to attend the day services, including assessment and transition planning.
- To lead the annual review process for the day services department, monitoring quality, consistency and implementation of actions.

**Leadership and Management**:

- To establish and maintain professional working relationships with all Day service staff and across all departments within Autism Together.
- To be responsible, through the Service Managers, for the management and allocation of staff, ensuring that staff are competent and have the appropriate skills and knowledge base to deliver an excellent service. Identifying training needs as appropriate.
- To be directly responsible for the supervision, performance management and support of the Service Managers and to ensure that a supervision and performance management programme is rolled out for the day service staff.
- To take an active role in matters of Human Resources such as recruitment, investigating and reporting on disciplinary, absence management and competency issues.
- To ensure quality recording and monitoring systems are undertaken by staff.
- To be involved in the recruitment and induction process for new staff.
- Ensure that regular department meetings are held and minutes are distributed.
- In conjunction with the finance department, to monitor and evaluate budget allocation.
- Ensure that equipment, furniture, provisions and utilities are managed with cost efficiencies in mind.
- To ensure that staff adhere to Autism Together’s health and safety policy, reporting hazards and dangers to the maintenance department, completing effective and comprehensive risk assessments.

**Quality Assurance**
- To ensure that internal recording and monitoring systems promote excellence in quality-of-care delivery.
- In conjunction with the Director of Quality & Support ensure that Autism Together achieves any external quality assurance assessments that are deemed appropriate.
- To ensure that the curriculum for the day service activities meets the individuals’ progression, and skill achievement and is outcomes focused

**Supporting Individuals**
- To ensure that staff have a detailed knowledge of autism spectrum condition and understand the implication of living with the condition.
