Regulatory Officer (Food Manufacturing essential)
Hybrid / South

A Global FMCG Food & Drink Manufacturer is currently recruiting for a Regulatory Officer to join the team. This role will be a hybrid model with 1-2 days per week on site in Hampshire, rest remote working. This role will require a Food / drink Regulatory background and ideally finished product experience. International regulatory exposure will be deemed advantageous.

This Regulatory Officer will be responsible for guiding marketing teams, supply functions, project teams, and the Design and Development team to ensure that products are legally compliant in their relevant markets, and advising on existing and forthcoming regulatory issues primarily in the fields of food labelling, nutrition, health and other marketing claims, composition, pesticides and contaminants.

Regulatory Officer responsibilities include:
Ensure that the company complies with outside regulatory and legal requirements, as well as internal policies and laws.

Provides guidance on the legality of product labelling. Conducts product label approvals to support Marketing teams’ activities in line with the service level agreement and following the pack copy and artwork sign off process.

Provides guidance on UK, EU and International legislative requirements ensuring legal compliance of current products and shaping the development of new products.

Maintains a good working knowledge of the UK, EU and international food legislation.

The ability to explain complex technical and legislative issues in a comprehensive manner so that they can be readily understood by non-technical/legal audiences

Supports the development of ingredient and product specifications to ensure that the relevant legal and technical requirements are addressed during the procurement process.

Ensure nutrition, health and other marketing claims (including packaging end of life marketing claims such as recycling logos, biodegradability, certification schemes, etc) comply with appropriate regulations and advertising standards.

Carries out ingredient and finished product compliance checks to ensure suitability in intended markets of sale internationally.

Maintain regulatory databases and tools to ensure they remain current, accurate and fit for purpose.

Carry out international horizon scanning activities to ensure ongoing, proactive business compliance
