Description

**The main duties of the nursery practitioner will include**:

- To assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head, head of EYFS and the nursery co-ordinator
- To support the children in the primary areas of development, including their personal care
- To follow school policy and procedures on safeguarding, including recording relevant information on CPoms
- To plan and prepare activities, manage resources, make observations and compile records and reports as deemed necessary by the nursery co-ordinator
- To share the responsibility for pastoral care of the children and be aware of the Behaviour Management Policy
- To participate in the staff development programme as directed by the head
- To assist with cover for absent colleagues as directed by the head
- To promote professional relationships between staff and parents
- To attend parent meetings
- Administrative Duties:

- To support the nursery co-ordinator with tasks deemed necessary for the delivery of the EYFS curriculum
- To carry out lunchtime and playground duties as directed by the head of EYFS or head

Entry requirements

GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4/C) Essential
GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade C/4) Essential

Training to be provided

Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking their end point assessment

Apprentices must successfully complete the apprentices must successfully complete a first aid qualification in line with the requirements of the EYFS Framework

Things to consider

**Essential**: - Knowledge of the EYFS Curriculum - Computer literate - Able to support the Christian ethos of the school Current experience of working in the EYFS is desirable.
