**Accountable to - Care Coordinator/Deputy/Manager**
**Job Summary**
The role of Support Worker is to undertake those duties required of them as delegated by the Manager, Deputy Manager or in their absence the Care Co-ordinator.
The delivery of care will be determined by the individualised care plans and the Support Worker will report regularly to the person in charge, passing on and documenting any changes that are observed or problems that are identified.
The Support Worker will expect to undertake training in the Home guided by the Manager. Mandatory training will be funded by The Manor Care Home Group and it is necessary to be present at all training sessions. Any additional training will be at the expense of the Support Worker unless previously agreed with the Manager.
The Support Worker will remember that they are dealing with long stay residents in the home and that the accent should be on providing a friendly, sociable environment and the best quality of life that is possible. This means working on staff rota drawn up by the management covering 24 hrs over 7 days a week.
To describe all duties of a Support Worker would be very difficult and therefore listed below are some of the key issues. Other duties may be expected at the discretion of the Manager.

**General Duties**
Up-dating Care Plans as required within the person centred care specifications.
To assist senior care where applicable.
Delivering all aspects of personal care to the resident.
Bedmaking and ensuring that residents bedrooms are kept in a clean and orderly manner at all times.
Observing and recording fluid intake orally and urinary output
To ensure their training is up to date where applicable
Weighing of residents
Supporting the resident to medical or other professional staff as appropriate.
To maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
