Horticultural Assistant

**Duties will include**:
Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent customer service, making sure the customers finds everything they require.

Provide specialist product advice to and assist and educate customers, being able to recognise and act on sales opportunities..

Be on hand to help lift compost/gravel and large pots for customers.

Conducting daily quality checks of plants, ensuring all plants are well cared for, maintained, and attractively presented.

General housekeeping, stock rotation, merchandising

Assisting with regular stock takes/stock reconciliation
- Health and safety and risk awareness; ensuring that you work in a safe manner to ensure that the shop floor is always clean and tidy, particularly during opening hours

**It is essential that applicants have the following**:
Good knowledge of horticulture, plant requirements and their care

Physically fit as this particular role does require lifting compost, pots and other heavy items.

Enthusiasm for providing the absolute best customer service

The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to work unsupervised with energy, pace, and passion
- A flexible approach and a ‘can do’ attitude and be a strong team player

This role is a Full time position working alternate weekends with a day off in the week.

Hourly rates & salaries will be negotiated at the interview, we carry out 3 month probationary periods. Excellent rates of pay dependent on experience.
