We are currently hiring of an Inspect who will be responsible for conducting quality inspections and coordinating activities in a manner that conforms to company policies and procedures, Health & Safety, and Environmental legislation. You will be reporting directly to the product assurance engineer.
- Monday - Thursday: 8am - 4:45pm
- Friday: 8am - midday
- Duration: 24th February 2024 (Maternity Cover)

**Duties Include**:

- Mechanical & Cosmetic Inspection
- Incoming and Final Inspection of company Products and Quality Records.
- Provide Quality Control activities including those required for New.
- Product Introduction
- Support all departments that interface with Quality.
- Act as a flexible member of a dynamic inspection team; providing inspection services as dictated by business needs.
- First Article Inspection

**Responsibilities**:

- Reporting major quality issues to the lead Inspector or Chief Quality Engineer as appropriate
- Working with the Lead Inspector to ensure inspection consistency.
- To provide inspection services (as directed by the Production and Quality Managers) for:

- Goods Inwards Inspection
- Repairs & Returns - incoming and final
- Final Assembly
- Supporting the Lead Inspector in planning inspection activity based on agreed schedules with Materials Management and Production.
- Work to inspection schedules as defined by the Lead Inspector.
- Taking part in the First Article Inspection (FAI) process to ensure all products and updates are inspected.
- Development of statistical methods to reduce incoming inspections.
- Identifying non-conforming parts or products and escalating significant issues to the Lead Inspector or Chief Quality Engineer.
- Notifying design of any errors/inconsistency in inspection requirements.
- Raising non-conforming product reports.
- Raising return to Vendor report.

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**:

- Minimum 2-3 years Inspection experience gained in a manufacturing environment [essential]
- Familiarity with quality disciplines including 8D reporting, 5 Whys and the completion of corrective action reports [essential]
- Good written and oral communication skills [essential]
- Able to interpret Engineering drawings.

**Qualifications**:

- NVQ in an Engineering discipline [not essential]
- GCSE [level A - C] or equivalent in Math and English

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months

**Salary**: £15.00 per hour

- Monday to Friday

- Havant, Hampshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
