Flooring Estimator

We are looking for a flooring estimator to join our expanding team. We are a young innovative business supplying and installing a wide range of floor coverings to both domestic and commercial clients.

Based in Bude, North Cornwall we have recently expanded with a second shop in Wadebridge, North Cornwall opening early 2023. The role will be split between the two locations.

The job involves interacting with clients on a day to day basis, measuring, planning and estimating.

The role will require travelling to client’s premises whether domestic or commercial settings and giving advice on the type of flooring that best suits their needs and inspecting and advising on sub floor preparation. Once the survey is complete you would then plan the job and create an estimate.

Previous experience in the flooring industry is advantageous but isn’t essential, full training will be given.

The flooring estimator position involves:

- Assisting customers with all their flooring requirements in both the Bude and Wadebridge showrooms and at customers premises.
- Provide customers with accurate information on industry products and services.
- Arranging home visits and site surveys for planning and estimating for customer specific estimates.
- Travel two and from appointments.
- Measuring and keeping accurate records of surveys undertaken.
- Planning installations with cutting plans, working out materials required, ordering products and seeing projects through to installation.
- Advising fitters on technical problem solving.
- Loading & unloading of flooring deliveries, with some heavy lifting.
- Maintain knowledge of products, subfloor preparations and installation requirements.
- Be highly organised and able to manage time and deadlines.
- Able to prioritize tasks and lead projects to completion.
- A passion to learn.
- A good grasp of arithmetic and the understanding of measuring.
- Good communicator with customers and colleagues and a positive and friendly manner.
- Computer literate.
- Full UK driving licence.

Desired but not essential:

- Experience within the flooring industry or similar trade

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
