Our client is a world leader in intelligent electric heating and renewable energy solutions, as well as holding significant global market positions in domestic appliances, cooling and ventilation.

The team based in Poole is looking for a Controls engineer who will be responsible for providing successful delivery of specification compliant, fully functioning strategies aligned to the operation of the company’s products. The role will also involve overseeingand reporting to relevant stakeholders regarding R&D initiatives, along with designing the hardware requirements to meet project specifications.

**Accountabilities**
- Ensure that project specific strategies are developed in a timely manner, adhering to customer and production requirements.
- Produce project specific documentation as required e.g. Description of Operation, Technical Submission, providing a statement of our scope of works.
- Attend client meetings as necessary both pre and post order to ensure we are delivering projects to client expectations.
- Provide technical guidance during design phase and post order site support to operational teams as required.
- Understand and interpret wiring schematics drawings and CAD based designs.
- Ensure all tasks and functions are undertaken in a safe manner in accordance with the company Health and Safety policies, procedures and management system.
- Uphold the highest standards of quality, protect and consider the environment whilst adhering to our ISO9001 and ISO14001 processes and procedures.
- Work in conjunction with sales teams to interrogate contract specifications, ensuring strategies are compliant.
- Maintain accurate project records ensuring that the company is contractually safeguarded.
- Promote proactive project communication to key stakeholders.
- Provide technical support to clients on any controls issues.
- Attend site projects any time site attendance is required.
- Communicate with the contracts department on any job specific requirements to ensure that labour costs are adhered to.
- Assist site/service engineers remotely or on site to ensure software and hardware is being understood and are within the capabilities of the engineers to ‘set to work’.
- Support the production department with any job specific testing procedures to ensure that strategies are tested to the client’s specification.
- Create software/graphics for user interfaces.
- Host presentations to both clients and colleagues.
- Provide training for both clients and colleagues.
- Process the returning of faulty controls equipment through our RMA procedure to ensure any equipment returns are tested before being dispatched.
- Develop new products and strategies in line with Ability’s NPD roadmap

**Skills, Knowledge & Experience**

**ESSENTIAL**
- Well organised with an exceptional attention to detail
- Track record in delivering results under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Previous experience of building management systems (BMS)
- Leadership and mentoring of staff/colleagues to deliver improved performance
- Extensive knowledge of Delta controls platform
- CSCS qualified

**DESIRABLE**
- Formal qualification in a controls/electrically/mechanical biased discipline
- Knowledge of HVAC systems
- Previous experience of site working

**Travel**

The role holder will travel approximately 20% of their time on a mixture of planned and ad-hoc business travel to customer premises, active sites and other company destinations.
