**About the home**

This beautiful, friendly Care Home, based in Ilminster, Somerset is seeking an experienced** Head Chef.**

**Main responsibilitiesasa Head Chef**

Home-made cooking with fresh vegetables cooked every day, plus breakfast and suppers to a high standard required, nutritious food.
- Experienced in Stock Control, Budget Monitoring & Environmental Health Requirements
- Ability to manage the small catering team
- Good knowledge of Food Hygiene, Health & Safety and Infection Control
- Ability to cater up to 30-35 residents and staff per day, offering excellent cuisine including soft meals and special dietary requirements.
- Ability to assist to plan, design and update menus for the home.
- Ability to adhere to the homes policies and procedures and make sure the team are as well.
- Ensuring the Kitchen is kept in good working order at all times ensuring Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards within the kitchen are adhered too.

**Skills/Qualifications/Requirements for the Head Chef role**
- Previous experience in a care home or hospital or school is desirable.
- Ideally will have an up to date Food Hygiene Certificate/COSHH Awareness**Key Benefits of the Head Chef role**
