**Position Overview**

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Bio-bank Samples Scientist to join us. You will join Innovative Medicines Group and take responsibility of managing the storage and supply of human tissue samples from multiple Bio-banks in the UK. We are offeringthis role on a full time, temporary basis - 12 months.

**Site Address**: AstraZeneca, Chesterford Research Park, CB10 1XL

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Sample handling to ensure that samples are received, inventoried, logged, labelled, stored, tracked, dispatched, returned and/ or disposed appropriately
- Maintaining the inventory of Human Biological Samples in accordance with the global standard, Good Clinical Practice and standard operating procedures
- Maintain compliance by monitoring and following-up on key dates (e g end of check-out period for samples)
- Track all work-in-progress using specialized informatics systems as well as databases, so that there is a common understanding of status at all times

**Experience Required**
- A degree in a scientific discipline (BSc, MSc)
- Understanding of, and experience with various IT solutions such as Information Management Systems (LIMS) and databases, including knowledge of Excel for data transformation and analyses
- Experience of working in compliance with global standards and regulations following defined SOP’s and within a GCP environment is desirable
- Experience in Bio-banking or working with human biological samples
