**Head of Housing**

**LOCATION**:Bristol

**HOURS: 35per week**

**SALARY**: £50 - 55k

**DURATION**: 6 months FTC

**START DATE**: March / April

BRC are partnering with a long-standing and well-established charity in Bristol to recruit their Head of Housing. We're seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to provide operational management and leadership across Housing Services (c. 140 units of Supported Living and Extra Care) during a time of transition to a new Community Hub-based delivery model.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor the quality of housing services and provide support to a small Housing and Support Team around good practice and excellent performance.
- Develop and embed housing management and support policies, procedures, and systems.
- Ensure that the Housing and Support Team provide an effective, responsive service to the charity’s residents including a growing range of resident activities and events.
- Ensure all schemes and services are fully compliant with health & safety, safeguarding, and other statutory requirements.
- Work in conjunction with the Service Manager (Housing) to ensure recruitment to, induction, training and supervision and appraisal of the newly formed Housing and Support Team.
- Work with the CEO to implement Business Continuity Plans for schemes, working to ensure that the organisation takes all reasonable steps to identify, assess and protect itself, its staff, residents, property and reputation from risk.
- Work alongside the CEO and SLT in planning new structures and processes aligned to a Community Hub-based delivery model for housing operations

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience in a leadership role within the nonprofit sector, preferably in client
- A strategic thinker with ability to plan new structures and methods of delivery
- Service management experience demonstrating effective leadership, performance management skills and service user care ideally gained in the Housing, Care and Support
- Ability to inspire and motivate a team and win the respect of colleagues and external stakeholders
- Demonstrable experience of managing fixed and floating teams of independent housing workers
- Experience of developing policies, procedures, and systems
- Possess a comprehensive knowledge of legal frameworks
- Ability to get involved in lots of projects simultaneously and handle the pressure well
- A driver with access to own vehicle will be essential
