Our warehouse has various roles within the business, and the position of “warehouse assistant” encompasses a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Good in Check:

- Thoroughly inspecting the quality of incoming stock and efficiently unloading vans.
- Accurately recording the weight of all incoming stock.
- Rejecting unacceptable stock when necessary.
- Safely storing bric, bedding pillows and jigsaws as well as our main product, clothing.
- Using forklifts to unload deliveries and store larger bags ready for sorting in the future.
- Cleaning the work area at the end of the shift to ensure readiness for the next working day.

Bag Restock and Removal:

- Ensuring continuous stock supply to each sorting table by replenishing bags.
- Collecting sorted bags from the sorting area for weighing.
- Properly labelling each bag with the appropriate letter or phrase.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy work area to minimise hazards and ensuring smooth movement between goods in and goods out areas.

Stock Sorting:

- Prioritising quality while meeting the minimum target set by the business.
- Checking the quality of stock and placing items in the correct corresponding bags around you.
- Reporting stock quality accurately to provide vital information to the business.
- Cleaning the work station at the end of the day in preparation for the next working day.

Weigh Station:

- Recording weights of bags accurately and clearly in the designated book and on the bags themselves.
- Ensuring securing tying, weighing and placement of the bags in the correct storage area
- Using forklifts to move stock as required.

Press:

- Safely operating machinery at the press station at all times.
- Loading the press machine with stock and ensuring the loading door is closed before initiating the pressing process.
- Using the strapping tool in a safe manner, recognising its importance as hired equipment must be well maintained.

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

**Salary**: From £10.50 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 40 per week

**Experience**:

- Warehouse experience: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
