Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference and promote reading? We are seeking an excellent professional who has the ability to build strong, positive and respectful relationships with students.

We’re delighted to be advertising for a hard-working and enthusiastic librarian who will help us achieve our goal of every child leaving our academy as a fluent and capable reader

The role and what we are looking for

In the role of librarian, you will be working to complement the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for the library facility. Supporting the Literacy Lead, Director of English and Assistant Principal, you will be responsible for digital and physical learning resources. We have a wealth of resources including audiobooks, eBooks and a well-stocked physical library that you will oversee and help promote. This will involve developing all students’ love of reading, stretching our most able readers through book clubs and recommendations, and providing intervention for our weakest readers to enable them to learn and love reading.

Our academy

Our academy is a caring and supporting school in Immingham. Encouraging and developing our students as readers is amongst our very highest priorities and central to our approach. Our vision is to support our students and provide them with the skills and education to be successful in any career of their choice. The librarian’s role within this is significant in allowing students to fulfil their potential and become valuable and happy members of their community.

Oasis Community Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
