We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior nurse to join our Clinical Informatics Team as the Digital Matron.

We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and enthusiastic leader who is passionate about the use of digital technology to improve quality of care and who will play a key role in the implementation of the Trust’s Digital Strategy. You will need to be enthusiastic about technology use in the NHS and be equipped with excellent leadership skills.

The post holder will play a key role in developing a partnership relationship between the clinical teams and the digital informatics teams, identifying potential problems and finding solutions. The post holder will be an effective communicator and an excellent team worker.

The Digital Matron will act as liaison with system users and digital informatics teams during all phases of clinical system development and implementation at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring consideration is given to clinical safety throughout and supporting delivery of the Trust’s digital strategy.

The Digital Matron will engage the clinical management teams in preparation of detailed operational policies and procedures related to a new or optimised systems implementation to ensure the clinical safety standards are met and information governance requirements are adhered to.

The post holder will bring highly specialist knowledge and skills to promote and take a lead role in the delivery of a digital portfolio of work. This will include developing new and innovative clinical practices working with other areas and services, in response to emerging knowledge and techniques.

They will work to professional and Regulatory Body codes, standards and guidance at all times, to guarantee that the Trust is compliant with national and local reporting requirements and standards of digital health.

The post holder will ensure robust systems and monitoring mechanisms are in place for nursing quality indicators, from ward to Board, establishing processes to maintain, improve and sustain a safe, efficient and high quality of care, which is patient centred.

The post holder will be expected to work with the minimum of supervision and co-ordinate their activities, in order to ensure that an efficient service is provided.

It is expected that the post will develop as the jobholder progresses and other duties as appropriate to the grade of the post will evolve.
