Bar Supervisor

The Festival Hall is owned and operated by Petersfield Town Council. We are currently going through a period of change. This includes potential refurbishment of the venue and a review in the way we operate. The in house Rose Room bar service is in operation for our tribute nights, cinema showings and private hires. We are at the start of an exciting journey in making The Festival Hall an even greater place for entertainment in Petersfield.

**Key responsibilities**

- To ensure that all bar staff are compliant with all relevant legislation.
- To provide staff training.
- To ensure all prices are correct and update all prices in line with the annual budget process.
- To ensure that the bar is equipped with all the necessary equipment that is required to provide a quality bar service.
- To undertake pre and post event stock takes and any additional stock takes requested by the Finance Manager.
- To order the appropriate amount of stock for the upcoming events taking into account any themes.
- To set up and maintaining good relationships with suppliers to get best value for the council in accordance with Council policy.
- To operate and maintain the Rose Room cash register, including the purchase of any consumables.
- To assist the Finance Officer with the secure management of any cash in accordance with department processes and Council policy.
- To provide the Petersfield Town Council (PTC) events such as meetings and Petersfield In Bloom presentation evenings with wine or any other requested drinks.
- To arrange any refreshments required for PTC training evenings or business meetings.
- Undertake a variety of project work with mínimal supervision.
- Liaise with section heads as required.
- Maintaining confidential filing systems, disposal and storage of documents, according to locally agreed working practice and in keeping with the Data Protection/ Freedom of Information regulations and document management requirements. Ensuring that appropriate data retrieval systems are in place.
- Ensure that system housekeeping is always kept up-to-date and is accurate.
- Maintain effective and efficient financial administrative and information management systems to support the work of the department.
- Use and manage relevant I T systems, producing reports and information as required.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £14.70 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
