**Introduction**
At DB Cargo UK, we’re looking for a Supervisor to join our Breakdown and Recovery Team at Hoo Junction.
The role will be responsible to the Breakdown and Recovery Engineer (Area Manager) for the safe and efficient restoration of normal running conditions on the network or customer location following an incident requiring the attendance of the team. The Supervisor will be responsible for the competence of the nominated shift team and will ensure their ongoing training and development through agreed plans.
**Please note, we will be running assessment days for this position. The dates of the assessments will be the week commencing the 22nd May 2023. If you are selected to the next stage, we will contact you with further information and arrange a suitable date.**
**Responsibilities**
Ensure competence of team for tasks performed, managing this through CCMS.
Support and carry out relevant training to ensure that you are driving talent development within your team
Manage a team within Working Time Directive and produce the weekly roster for the shift team
Conduct and document weekly depot safety tours
Liaise with external agencies/customer representatives as required
Liaise with Construction Duty Manager as required
Undertake task risk assessment and produce safe systems of work
Create safe working environment within the depot and on site.
Operate hydraulics trolley to effect safe lifts using MFD jacks and beams
Manual handling of packing materials to effect safe lifting/jacking
Manual handling of jacking equipment and beams
Supervise cutting/welding tasks
Undertake light maintenance of associated plant/equipment
Please note this role is 24/7 shift working, including nights and weekends.
This position is 42 hours per week.
**Qualifications**
We are looking for a leader who is experienced in leading a diverse team with knowledge of the recovery on the rail network.
Comfortable and confident liaising with external and internal stakeholders as you will be required to communicate with people of all levels to delegate and resolve any issues.
You will be a transformational leader, working well with your team and the wider business
You will be a mechanically minded and aware individual.
Full UK driving licence essential / HGV Class 2 desirable
Railway industry experience would also be a distinct advantage
**Benefits**
In return, we offer a staged salary starting at £38,032 per annum.

**Salary**: £38,032.00-£45,632.00 per year
