Are you an experienced planner focusing on Environmental Impact Assessments? If so, our market leading planning team are looking for an experienced Environmental Planner to join them.

Minimising the environmental impact of our clients’ proposed developments is something we take very seriously. Bidwells are recognised by IEMA as being at the forefront of good practice and expertise in EIA, reflected by our firmwide IEMA EIA Quality Mark Accreditation. We are one of only four property consultancies with this accreditation. Our EIA team is forward thinking, focused on quality, and provides meaningful EIA with significant value to our clients.

We are slightly different from many EIA teams as we are Chartered RTPI Town Planners and embedded within a planning team. This means we are commercially driven and have a wide understanding of the planning process. We work as part of multidisciplinary teams to give us unparalleled insight into the dynamics of property development.

The current market, although challenging has given us the opportunity to grow the environmental side of our planning division. You will be involved in a some of the largest projects in Cambridge and beyond, with a good mix of rural, urban and new community projects. Our expertise in the Cambridge - Oxford Growth corridor is unparalleled. Joining us would give someone the opportunity to be involved in some of the most ambitious proposals in England.

This role could be based in Cambridge, London or Oxford.

**What you’ll be doing**

You will be working on a range of developments as part of planning and design teams. Key responsibilities include:

- As part of a team, have a portfolio of projects where you lead EIA Screening, and the co-ordination and production of Environmental Impacts Assessment in conformity with the requirements of the EIA Directive and UK Regulations
- Review Sustainability Appraisals, prepare/co-ordinate evidence to support the allocation of sites/areas for development/growth at examination or public inquiries
- Employ technical expertise in particular EIA topic (Socio-Economics, Health, etc)
- Liaise with planning case officers, consultees and clients
- Make and maintain client relationships
- Business Development and winning work
- Proactively help shape and develop a growing team

**About You**:

- Extensive experience in a similar role
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Expert knowledge and understanding of UK environmental planning regulations
- Enjoy working as part of a team and keen to take responsibility
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively to help inform design and strategies
