**The Richmond Fellowship is looking to recruit a Health and Safety Co-ordinator to our services. This role will by hybrid with home working and travel across the North of Scotland and Nationally as required.**:
**Specific Duties & Key Responsibilities**:
**H&S within Operations**
- Assist in the ongoing development of the health and safety functions within TRFS
- Carry out regular inspections of sites and work places to determine whether work is being carried out in accordance with Company Policy, Procedures and the relevant Statutory Provisions
- Audit H&S reports from services
- Give advice and guidance to Managers on Risk Assessments, Safe Working procedures, water temperature checks, medication etc
- Guide/assist Managers to set up their safety systems as per TRFS policies and procedures
- Liaise with the Positive Behaviour Support Team and audit the services identified by the PBST Manager to ensure compliance with our policies with respect to behaviours of concern

**Fire Risk Assessment**
- Conduct the annual Fire Risk Assessments to all TRFS properties including care homes in conjunction with the regional Fire Risk Assessors or H&S Manager
- Ensure that Fire Risk Assessments programme is on schedule
- Maintain the Fire Risk Assessments register, including keeping the spreadsheet up-to-date and programming future fire risk assessments
- Liaise with the Facilities and Properties department on the properties actions from the Fire Risk Assessments
- Set up and implement the new fire safety folders in Care Homes and HMO’s where appropriate

**Training**
- Conduct Health and Safety training sessions
- Actively involved in marking the IOSH test papers and projects

**Policy and Development**
- Active involvement in devising and developing H&S related policies with the Health and Safety Manager
- Support the H&S Manager with the organisation strategic plan
- Attend the National and Regional H&S meetings when possible
- Attend the Fire Risk Assessors Meetings and any other meeting that is appropriate in the interest of Health and Safety
- Carry out any other duties as assigned by the H&S Manager as required

**Additional Information**

All staff must familiarise themselves with all the Policies and Procedures of TRFS and work within both procedural and legal frameworks including Health & Safety and Equal Opportunities. In particular, all staff have a duty to ensure they comply with requirements under the Protection of Vulnerable Adults and Children.

Prior to any unconditional offer of employment being made TRFS requires to have the following compliances satisfied:

- Two satisfactory references.
- Satisfactory enhanced Disclosure certificate.
- Compliance with Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
- Satisfactory medical clearance.
- Qualifications/SSSC registration confirmation (if applicable).
