**General Operative**

**Location: Denby, Ripley, Derbyshire**

We are now recruiting for a General Operative to join us on a permanent basis, at our Denby Site.

Continental Shift Pattern 4 on 4 off - Days (Hours
- 06:00 a.m. - 06:00 p.m.)

**Salary**: dependent on experience.

**Purpose of Role**:The General Operative will assist with general ad-hoc duties liaising with various departments and Managers to ensure the efficient delivery of daily housekeeping tasks in Extrusion and Toolroom at Flamstead House. You will be reporting to the Extrusion Managers.

**Main duties and responsibilities**:

- Complying with health and safety guidelines and reporting any safety concerns to Management.
- Keeping on top of emptying bins (general waste, poly, small bins, cardboard) in the production area, toolroom and mixing plant.
- Putting scrap pallets and other wood parts that come from Liniar House into wood recycling bins.
- Providing general housekeeping tasks (mow grass, litter picking, tidying up and painting) around the extrusion and mixing plant departments and Flamstead House.
- Liaising with the goods in and other departments regarding wood skip exchange and replenishment.
- Delivering items from the goods in office to various departments.
- Restocking cleaners’ cupboards with cleaning products and toiletries when delivered.
- Providing support to other departments where applicable (i.e. assisting Managers with tasks that might need doing).
- Complying with all company and legal policies and procedures.

**Essential Skills**:

- Experience with a similar hands-on role
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to work under pressure and self-motivate themselves
- Efficient and capable of managing their own workload
- Positive can-do attitude and willingness to work as part of a team and on own initiative

**Desirable Skills**:

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, especially the uPVC industry would be beneficial - but on the job training will be provided
- FLT licence would be beneficial
