Production Engineer (Electromechanical)
Chippenham
Circa £21 Per Hour + Holidays + Pension
Ongoing long term contract bases, Monday to Friday daytime hours.
The role will be suited to experienced engineers from manufacturing backgrounds with strong hands-on electromechanical experience, combined with contributing to the improvement of the manufacturing processes. You will hold a relevant electrical or mechanicalengineering qualification and any knowledge of electronic components or assemblies will be advantageous although non-essential.
The key function of the role will be in support of manufacturing. You will perform read and interpret engineering drawings and carry out engineering tasks to assess the need of replacements for obsolete parts or components in conjunction with the obsolescenceengineers and sourcing equipment to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. You will assist in the planning and prioritisation of workloads where needed and maintain complete and accurate documentation and records in line with required industry standards andbusiness practices. The role requires a sharp eye on relevant legislation, company policies and procedures ensuring all practices are always inline with evolving standards and legislation. The role:
- Assisting production to ensure the manufacturing process are relevant, tuned and lean
- Performing engineering tasks to support manufacturing including sourcing of equipment to complete tasks effectively
- Assessing need of replacement parts for obsolete components/ equipment in conjunction with the Obsolescence team
- Undertake effective planning and prioritisation of workload wherever necessary
- Complete and maintain accurate, timely documentation and records as required
- Support other teams and functions as required by the business
- Undertake any other tasks or duties as required by your line manager
The person:
- Experienced multi skilled engineer from an electromechanical manufacturing environment
- Ideally strong wiring/ prewiring knowledge and strong mechanical engineering aptitude
- Proven ability of being able to maintain and improve effective working practices
- Effective communication skills allowing the individual to communicate internally and externally, at all levels
- Relevant electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications
