Our client currently has an exciting career opportunity for a Management Accounts Assistant to join their team based in Inverness. The successful applicant will work within a highly supportive environment offering long term progression and personal development. The purpose of the role is to assist in producing an accurate set of management accounts on a monthly basis and to perform relevant nominal ledger reconciliations. Specific duties include:
- Review and analyse all P&L transactions throughout the month, and post any corrective transactions through the nominal ledger.
- Review wage costs and general expenditure on a monthly basis.
- Process through the nominal ledger any necessary accruals and prepayments for the region.
- Perform a Refund Ledger Reconciliation, advising of any adjustments to the sales system to post, and processing through the nominal ledger any transactions to update the nominal ledger Debtors Control Account.
- Perform Bank account Reconciliations for the region, advising of any receipting or banking adjustments to be posted.
- Ensure the relevant paper work has been received.
- Perform reconciliation of designated supplier statements and liaise with the supplier to resolve any disputes and ensure payment of valid outstanding amounts.
- Also deal with any telephone queries from designated supplier.
- Any other tasks commensurate with the post as assigned by the Management Accounts Team Leader/Assistant Management Accountant or Management Accountant.
**Person specification**
- Previous experience in a similar accounts/bookkeeping role and/or an accounting qualification (HNC/HNC minimum requirement).
- Determination and capability to progress a career within accounting & finance and a willingness to learn.
- Strong IT skills and the ability to learn new systems and procedures with ease.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- An aptitude for learning and professional development.
- Ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail in meeting deadlines.
