We have The World Famous Brixham Fish Market right on our doorstep, and we prepare and deliver the freshest, locally sourced fish and seafood available, to chefs and professional kitchens across the South of the UK.

As a fast-paced leading supplier of fresh and frozen seafood, we form part of the Bidfresh Group. From our premises in Paignton, our facilities are BRC AA grade certified, giving customers the reassurance they’re choosing a fish supplier committed to quality products and service. We ensure our fish is sourced responsibly, and we have links with Non-Profit Organisations such as the MSC and ASC, to develop and market sustainable alternatives.

**A bit about the role**:
We have a fantastic opportunity for a hardworking, friendly and reliable individual to join our growing production team, as a Production Operative.

This role is a real opportunity to experience different aspects of our factory and the variety of production based duties available within our fast-paced and exciting environment. Here, you will have the chance to find your niche, work out your position within our fresh fish department and progress into a role that fits for you.

The type of duties you could do at the start, but are not restricted to, includes fridge and stock management, picking and packing our fresh fish, icing and strapping fish orders, vacuum packing and other steps we follow to process orders.

As a Production Operative, you will be based in a cold environment (factory) for prolonged periods of time, so full PPE and uniform will be supplied. You will be working alongside our fun and supportive factory team, as well as be in communication with our friendly sales and buying team.

**We have introduced an employee development and grading system that allows employees to grow their careers and have a better earning potential. This job advert details a starting salary, but when you progress and improve in the role, your earning also improves.**

Please note, during peak periods, there might be a requirement to work some overtime due to delivery and business needs, which is payable as overtime.

Previous production experience would be advantageous, but is not essential as full training will be provided.

**General duties will include, but are not restricted to**:

- Working within our fresh fish department trying out various duties until you progress into a role that fits for you
- Duties could include but are not restricted to, fridge and stock management, picking and packing our fresh fish, icing and strapping fish orders, vacuum packing and other steps we follow to process orders.
- Reducing waste through quality checking and reducing picking errors
- Following food hygiene and health and safety policies e.g. Clean-as-you-go
- Assisting other areas as required
- Embracing training opportunities and taking ownership of your own personal development

**A bit about you**:

- Previous production experience would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be provided
- Ability to use hand tools, stand or walk for extending periods, lift heavy items, and work in cold environments
- Ability to prioritise work to set deadlines, meaning good organisational skills
- Good communication skills
- Good time management skills, being punctual and reliable
- Able to work well independently and in a team
- Enthusiastic and self-motivated
- Demonstrates drive and positive approach to work
- Willingness to learn and progress
- Flexible approach to paid overtime during peak periods
