Overview:
**Purpose of role**:
At Change Grow Live we believe groups are a great way to engage and connect with those who use our services. We therefore offer a wide range of structured and peer lead group work programmes including Foundations of Recovery and SMART Recovery.

As a Group Work Support Volunteer, you will play an instrumental role in supporting the facilitator in the planning and preparation of groups. This will include promoting groups to service users, reminding them of up and coming sessions and engaging with those who do not attend. You will be provided with training and supported to eventually be able to take the lead in delivering some of the groups and provide one to one support to clients within the group setting. You will also have the opportunity to play a key role in the review and development of session materials including content, handouts and delivery.

**Key Activities**:

- Actively Engage with clients and staff promoting the benefits of the various groups on offer
- Support and empower clients to consistently engage in group work sessions
- Assist in the preparation of content and materials needed for groupwork sessions
- Create an appropriate and dynamic environment for a group session
- Meet and greet clients welcoming them into the group setting
- Co-facilitate groups taking a lead on activities and check in’s
- Provide 1.2.1 support where necessary within the group
- Work towards Taking a lead on delivering some groups independently
- Record group attendance on case management systems
- Contact service users who DNA re-engaging them with the group
- Play a part in the review and development of existing and new training material and delivery

**General terms of reference**:
In carrying out the above duties the post holder will:

- To help Change Grow Live fulfil its role in offering the best service to our clients.
- To perform your volunteering role to the best of your ability.
- To follow the Change Grow Live’s procedures and standards, including health and safety and equal opportunities, in relation to our staff, volunteers and clients.
- To maintain the confidential information of Change Grow Live and of our clients; adhering to Change Grow Live’s policies and procedures
- To meet the time commitments and standards which have been mutually agreed and to give reasonable notice so other arrangements can be made when this is not possible.

**Education Knowledge and Experience**:

- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with professional boundaries
- Good communication skills
- A non-judgmental attitude and desire to work with our client group
