Stonemasons Labourer or Trainee Sandstone Restorer

Long established Sandstone Restoration and Cleaning Company require a building site experienced labourer (full or part-time) **OR **a Trainee Sandstone Restorer (open to all ages)

Potential trainee **please note: This is all year round outdoor work. Wind and rain are part of the normal day. We only stop in the case of extreme weather.**

Trainees will be given the opportunity to attend courses job specific courses at the Scottish Lime Centre. Both trainees and experiencec labourer will be required to attend Safety courses if required.

Experience and ability will be assessed during a paid trial period the duration of which can be discussed.

Your own transport would be preferred but local pick up is an option/meeting place with free parking in **Prestwick** is an option. More suitable pick up/meeting points csn be discussed. The majority of our work is local to Ayr, Prestwick and Troon, if we are travelling company transport is available.

This is a permanent **Self-Employed **position offering 5 days a week ( site hours are 8pm-4pm) and additional occasional Saturday hours if desired. Part-time position hours are to be discussed. However, work on site starts at 8am for both positions, unless otherwise agreed. You will be on site as a **sub-contractor** but job specific site and safety training will be given as required.

The pay rate will be agreed and regularly reviewed, commensurate with age, experience and performance. The Company is in the habit of giving periodical incentive bonuses but this is at company discretion as you are self-employed. As you are self-employed, **you are responsible for your own PPE, Insurance Liabilty Certificate (a copy is required to be held by Sandstone Solutions on site) and your Income Tax Assessment. **If you have not been self-employed before, it is a simple process to register as self-employed. Advice can be given but we encourage you to do your own online research. Business Gateway are an excellent source of information.

Our work is mostly residential site work from professionally built scaffolds. We work in all weathers and it is hard but rewarding work. We presently have 12months worth of residential contracts in place with additional work in the estimating stage, this is not uncommon as we are a small but established company with excellent reviews which ensures job security for all and a long term Career for the right applicants.
