Machinist Apprentice

**Job description**:
Aalberts IPS UK Limited are looking for a Machinist Apprentice to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship to join their team. We are looking to strengthen our Tectite area with a new apprentice who will work & train in the department whilst undertaking an apprenticeship qualification. The post holder will work at the Doncaster site.

Role & responsibilities:

- Working to company documentation
- Selecting and mounting correct machine tools
- Securing work pieces securely prior to operating machines
- Set up the machines in accordance with instructions and specifications
- Operate machine to produce components in line with specification

- A keen willingness to progress personally and build a long-term future in an engineering role is essential
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- Have an inquisitive and questioning mind to learn from others
- A genuine interest in manufacturing would be an advantage
- Good time management skills
- Demonstrate a passion for engineering
- Safety conscious person
- Prior interest and experience in Engineering (desirable not essential)
- Technically minded individual
- A track record of exception timekeeping and attendance

- Willingness to learn and receive feedback in a positive manner

**Things to consider**:

- During the first year you will be required to attend the **University of Sheffield AMRC Training Centre S60 5BL**, full time for an initial block of study.
- You will return to your workplace one Friday per month.
- After the initial block training you will attend the AMRC Training Centre for one day a week to undertake the knowledge study.
- The remaining four days will be spent in company learning on the job.

**Qualification Requirements**:
Advanced apprenticeship entry requirements:
You will need **both **of the following:

- GCSE English language C or 4 or above
- GCSE Maths C or 4 or above on the **Higher Maths** paper only

Applicants are also required to successfully complete a series of assessments at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre, as well as an employer recruitment and selection process to secure a place on an apprenticeship programme.
