Situated on the Kingsnorth Industrial Estate, Ashford, we operate from our 30,000 sqft of modern equipped factory premises with approximately 40 full-time members of staff. We are a manufacturing company specialising processing flat glass products to the trade. This can include items such as insulated units for windows and doors, mirrors, glass table-tops, glass floors, screens,splashbacks and partitioning.

We currently have an opportunity for someone to join our Glass Cutting production team. The position offers a diverse and broad spectrum in glass cutting which we hope any new recruit would find both interesting and a challenging.

Duties can include, but would would not be limited to, cutting flat glass sheets of various types and thicknesses using automatic machinery or by hand. We process a wide range of materials so no two days are often the same Cutting shapes to template, drawings and CAD files would also be required so applicants must be confident in using PC's, automated machinery and be capable of handling material and using hand-tools.

**Essential qualities must include**:

- A friendly and positive approach to work
- Be able to use a computer (Training provided)
- Self-motivated and reliable with excellent time-keeping and attendance
- Able to work well as part of a small team.
- Capable of accepting and carrying out instructions when asked
- Own initiative
- Able to adhere to a smoking policy
- Be physically capable of manual handling materials and loads alone or as part of a team

Duties may not be limited to the outlined position. Other duties can include assisting other employees in their duties to ensure production targets are met.

Applicants will need a strong understanding of sizes (using tape measure) and manual handling techniques whilst adhering to PPE requirements at all times. Training can/will be provided on the job if required.

**Job Requirements**:

- Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
- Work accurately to documented works instructions
- Maintain a safe working environment
- Be willing to learn and develop new skills
- Manage workloads

Previous experience is a strong advantage. Training will be provided, but we will only consider applicants with transferable skills and abilities. Rates of pay are dependant skill, ability and qualification applicants are able to demonstrate or achieve through training.
