Accounts and Payroll Assistant

Payroll
- Processing multiple payrolls in weekly, fortnightly, monthly and annual format
- Using Sage Payroll
- Dealing with starters, leavers, P45 and other relevant HMRC forms
- Dealing with SMP and similar
- Preparation of salaries for clients, incorporating (as required) overtime, sickness absence, holiday pay, attachment of earnings and other adjustments and providing payslips and
- Completing all necessary documentation including P60’s
- Using Sage Payroll
- Preparation and submission of CSI returns
- Organisation of your payroll work with appropriate supervision to ensure timely provision of information to clients
Accounts, book-keeping and VAT
- Providing book-keeping services to clients (mostly in conjunction with VAT preparation)
- Using both Excel cash books and, as appropriate, accounts software programmes especially Sage
- Preparation of cash books from basic information - bank statements, invoices, receipts etc.
- Preparation of bank reconciliations
- Preparation of control accounts
- Analysis of expenditure categories
- Preparation of draft accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and other entities
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns
Miscellaneous
- Participating in ensuring the smooth function of the office
- Helping to maintain and improve relationships with clients
- Assisting more senior staff as required
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: £21,500.00-£23,000.00 per year
