Hospital at Night Clinical Co-ordinator

Working collaboratively with the MDT, the post holder will be the Lead in organizing and coordinating the clinical work and resource within St Marys Hospital out-of-hours at night. The post holder is an experienced acute care health care professional who, acting within their professional boundaries, will be the first point-of-call to all bleeps escalated out-of
- hours and weekends. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care through triaging the calls, directing it to the most appropriate clinical personnel. The post holder will demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process.

You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of safe high quality care, and providing clinical leadership as required. In order to work at this level, the out-of
- hours and weekend clinical coordinator must maintain the standards, professional registration and competences required of this role. You will provide leadership to all clinical areas out of hours and act as an ambassador for the Hospital at Night service and contribute to its development and progression. You will need to have excellent communication skills, be an advocate for patients and staff and have effective problem solving skills due to the nature of working out of hours.

There will be a need to provide clinical leadership to teams and undertake informal education with teams to ensure the sharing of knowledge to enhance practice. Due to the nature of the work out of hours, it will be necessary for applicants to evidence relevant and recent acute care experience.
