**About the role**:
The Overarching aim of the Children Wales Act is to help protect children’s rights by prohibiting the physical punishment of children by parents and those acting in loco parentis within Wales

The role of the Parenting worker will be to support to deliver tailored plans of support to individuals referred by the police for through the diversionary scheme.

**About you**:

- Experience of working with Parents and Families.
- Experience of motivating and supporting people to bring about positive change.
- Understanding of the challenges facing some families.
- Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of safeguarding issues and legislation.
- Be flexible in adapting to change to meet the needs of the service and families you support.
- Commitment to the development of practice and services that promote equality and inclusiveness.

**What you will do**:

- To be responsible for delivering high quality parenting support.
- Undertaking planned activities that contribute to better outcomes for families e.g.parenting education

Signposting families and children to partner organisations to make use of support services.

Identifying and promoting positive aspects of parents’ relationships and interaction with their children, including maintaining accurate record parents’ progress as an integral part of delivering parenting support and to contribute to written reports on the completion of interventions.Whilst always maintaining the confidentiality of families
- To Liaise with other professional from statutory and voluntary sector to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and families.
- To contribute to and work to the guidance of the Start Well Programme, Childrens commissioning team and the Powys Strategic parenting Forum
- Undertake and promote the actions described in the Welsh Government parenting guidance.
- To ensure practice is in line with the all Wales safeguarding procedures
- To work flexibly to suit the needs of the service. This will include weekend working and evening or early morning working, in consultation with the Manager and in accordance with the needs of the service.
