Do you have a passion for working with children and young people from the ages of 8 upwards, to help them to create their future, develop their life and build their social skills? At Geeks Room, we are looking for people who are dedicated to helping individuals learn, socialise and feel included within our community.

As a mentor, you will assist management in creating and developing session plans for group sessions and bespoke courses for 1 to 1s. You will also be responsible for ensuring resources are prepared ahead of time and that content delivery is monitored throughout the week, and adapted when needed. Engagement and enjoyment is our priority, so it is key that our sessions are exciting and interactive

**For a Mentor at Geeks Room CiC, we are looking for**:

- The confidence to lead and support coaching/mentoring with small groups of students and 1:1s, in life skills, social skills and our core skills.
- The ability to understand and adapt to the scope of an individual learner’s specific requirements.
- The desire to promote positive behavioural changes in students, who experience social, emotional and mental health difficulties, and facilitate their inclusion within our sessions.
- Awareness of Safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Previous experience in working with people with vulnerabilities, including but not limited to special educational needs and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health.
- Someone wishing to work in a non-traditional education setting.

Please note: our term-time opening hours are **Tuesday-Friday, 10am-6pm **and **Saturdays,12pm-7pm.**

**Who we are**:
We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company in Leeds, working with and for individuals between the ages of 8-25 years, we cater for all abilities and capabilities.

Our main focus is on creating an inclusive environment for all, including individuals with SEND/SEMH, delivering specific programmes and activities to target people with a range of abilities. We provide regular workshops, one to one training and practical experience. We strive to inspire our students to learn through our Geeks Experience, using coding/programming, technical repairs/diagnostics and design/creativity with our 'Game Education' approach.

We also offer courses that work towards awards and accreditation for our young adults and young people who wish to push themselves further, and provide work experience opportunities to support individuals to move into employment and education.
