We are looking for a cleaner to join our domestic team working in our Nursery within the YMCA Community & Activity Village in Newark.

This casual role involves cleaning the nursery every evening after the children leave.

Tasks include:
Sweeping

Mopping

Cleaning furniture & windows, toilets and changing areas, staff office, sensory room

Laundry.

Other tasks may be required on an ad hoc basis.

We also require 1 room per evening to be deep cleaned as per a set schedule

The required hours will be 6pm - 10pm, Monday - Friday with the option for more hours if and when demand requires.

On a day-to-day basis you will:

- Professionally clean the YMCA nursery.
- Work with the Facilities Team in a flexible and active manner.
- Complete a deep clean programme as and when called upon.
- Support with ad hoc cleaning tasks as events occur in the village and be reactive to customer needs.

As a frontline member of our team, you will be working in the Village alongside our visitors, guests, and other members of YMCA staff. You will be a friendly and approachable member of the team, happy to help in any way you can.

Every day, you will follow the safe use and practises of all cleaning machinery, equipment, adhering to Health & Fire Safety practices with specific attention to:

- COSHH
- Infection Control
- SHARPS & Bodily Fluid Equipment

We will provide you with all the equipment and cleaning items required and full training will be given.

About You

We are looking for someone with a naturally high standard of cleanliness who enjoys cleaning and loves being busy. You will enjoy working as part of a team, although the nature of this role is that you will spend a lot of time working alone in the nursery. The job is physically demanding and requires someone who can use their initiative and manage their own time within their shift.

We are open to your background, and prefer you to have some experience in cleaning, either in a domestic or commercial setting. Most important to us is your passion and commitment to join our team.
