Over the last 5 years Pearson has invested in a significant transformation of our systems and operating models. We have implemented single core platforms (ERP, CRM etc.) across our largest markets (North America, UK, APAC and India) while also moving to a Global Business Services model across our Enabling Functions (Operations, Finance, HR, IT etc.)
We are now looking to embark on the next stage of our transformation focusing on driving data driven insights, business intelligence and analytics to drive productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness of our global processes allowing us to leverage leading-edge process design and technology.
The role will report to the RTR Process Director and will support with the execution of the strategic RTR agenda aims to deliver a more efficient, more agile and more controlled environment through the optimisation of processes, tools, data, insights and our team capability across the core RTR processes:
- Journal entry and processing
- Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Financial close and consolidation
- Financial reporting
- Intercompany transactions and eliminations
- Fixed assets maintenance
- Controls and compliance
**Your Key Responsibilities**
Key responsibilities include:
- Mobilising and leading workstreams in the RTR transformation
- Leading key areas of RTR business process reporting and governance, to support tracking of transformation impacts and prioritisation of initiatives and resource
- Supporting major projects that have an RTR impact
- Supporting financial controls review and strengthening
Key requirements:
- Broad Record to Report experience operating within a finance shared service environment
- Process improvement experience, ideally using methodologies such as Lean / Six Sigma
- Experience in mobilising and managing projects, ideally with a project manager accreditation such as APMP, Prince2
- Experience in implementing systems/automation to improve financial processes or reporting
- Direct experience of financial reporting and controls operation, with a broad knowledge of these from across finance, and ideally a qualified accountant (ACA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.)
- Experience working in a multi-national matrix organisation.
- Fluent English verbal and written with experience of working globally across varying cultures, languages and markets. Proven record of working flexibly in multiple time zones over a consistent period.
