**Location overview**:
Cairngorm Mountain Scotland Ltd is the most popular snowsports destination in Scotland, located within the Cairngorms National Park, and has been offering snowsports for over 50 years. The resort is a major tourist hub and it provides an uplift system to the top of Cairngorm. In winter, the Resort is a commercial ski operation. In summer the Resort serves as a summer tourist destination for walkers and mountain bikers. The surrounding area attracts over 1.8 million annual visitors predominantly in summer with the Resort itself attracting circa 200,000 annual visitors.

Cairngorm Mountain resort covers 1,418 hectares and can attract over 120,000 skiing and snowboarding visitors in the busy winter period. The Resort offers the only funicular railway in Scotland. Completed in 2001 the funicular railway is the main transport link to the top of Cairngorm Mountain and is open all year round. The Resort encompasses the UK’s highest Restaurant which sits at 1,097m above sea level. The Ptarmigan building boasts impressive views of Britain’s highest mountain plateau. The Resort is an internationally renowned area of scientific interest. The Resort and surrounding areas contain unique natural habitats and wildlife protected by EU legislation.

It has the famous funicular railway, 30km of ski runs, 11 lifts, a fully maintained freestyle park and an on-site Snowsports equipment hire department that caters for everyone.

In the summer, the Resort transforms as the snow melts and becomes a hub of activity, from guided walks to the mountain summit, to leisurely low level walks including the mountain garden and camera obscura.

**Role overview**:
The cleaner will ensure the customer experience is delivered to the highest standards by ensuring all areas are clean, tidy, and hygienic. To ensure the provision of hospitality and customer care to Cairngorm customers.

**Purpose of the job**:
The cleaner is accountable to the Head janitor. The role is also accountable for ensuring that all aspects of customer care is operating to the highest standards.

**In discharging theses accountabilities, the Janitor is responsible for**:
**Duties and responsibilities**
- Perform cleaning duties in accordance with protocols and procedures
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness in all areas
- Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned to the highest standards
- Work independently and efficiently to complete tasks to the highest standard.
- To be aware of manual handling operations and carry out tasks to specified standards
- To understand and follow the VMP, and being able to explain VMP to our guests
- To be aware of all Facilities related Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Observe all Health & Safety requirements. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures, risk assessments and company policies
- To identify personal development needs in line with personal and organisational objectives
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as may, from time to time, be required

**People Management**
- Be polite and attentive to all our guests and colleagues
- Attend weekly “toolbox talks”
- Attend annual performance management and development processes such as Performance and Development (PAD) Reviews

**Person Specification**
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in commercial cleaning.
- Has excellent attention to detail and takes pride in their work.
- Demonstrate good people skills, both customer facing and within your team.
- The role will require a degree of flexible working to meet the business needs, 7 day operation and events outwith normal operating hours.

**Experience/Qualifications**
- Commercial Cleaning
- Manual Handling
- Experience in a customer focused environment

**Knowledge & Skills**:

- Great Organizational and housekeeping skills
- In-depth knowledge of cleaning solutions and their uses
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety standards
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficient in following cleaning protocols
- Ability to give clear direction to all levels from Director to site level
- Ability to work alone as well as part of a wider team and under pressure
