**THE ROLE**
We’re looking for an Estate Ranger to join the site-based team at Glen Finglas to support the management of the Glen Finglas Estate in line with the Trust’s land management policies and standards. All our woods are Forest Stewardship Council certified, and for many supporters, our woodland estate is the local window to the work of the Woodland Trust where we demonstrate what we can achieve to manage woods and trees for people and nature.

The Estate Ranger will be hands-on with a diverse range of work on the estate including woodland expansion projects, woodland management, control of invasive non-native species and other habitat management and restoration projects. They will lead on public engagement, organising public events and promoting the estate through various communications channels as well as managing existing volunteer activity and developing new volunteering opportunities to help with the practical management of the site and with public engagement.

A company vehicle will be provided for this role.

**THE CANDIDATE**
With previous experience in land-based management in the forestry, woodland management or nature conservation sector, you’ll have a strong track record of managing volunteers, public events and leading groups in an outdoor setting.

You’ll have a thorough understanding of health and safety and how this relates to working with members of the public, volunteers, and contractors as well as knowledge of wildlife and habitat conservation activities including undertaking wildlife and habitat monitoring and surveys. You will have great communication skills, be commercially aware and able to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
