Job Purpose:
The Collections Specialist will be responsible for completing collections activities and maintaining accurate records for the company. This will include collection of outstanding payments and managing disputes in line with established policies. You will have a significant role in implementing and enforcing collections process and treatment strategies within the team.

An essential part of this role is ensuring the collections documentation prepared for reporting meet accounting best practise and regulatory requirements. You will report to the Global O2C Delivery Lead, work with and provide guidance and support to the Collections Analysts.

Job Overview:
**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform collections activities
- Analyse customer account balances and flag overdue invoices/outstanding payments
- Monitor collections process to ensure timely and accurate collections in line with the agreed timeline
- Correspond and negotiate with customers on issues and disputes related to collections
- Investigate, resolve, or escalate customer issues and disputes as appropriate
- Write-off uncollectible balances in line with collections policies and treatment strategies
- Perform root cause analysis for disputed collections
- Support with queries from regulatory authorities and external auditors
- Work with and support the team in day-to-day activities including issues requiring judgement and expertise
- Support overall team goals and objectives
- Support continuous improvement of the collections process in the Shared Services Centre (SSC)
- Work with the Global O2C Lead to execute O2C process strategy
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency of systems and processes
- Ensure performance targets are met and raise issues if targets are not achieved
- Demonstrate and champion process expertise supporting O2C Global Process Owners (GPO) initiatives
- Ensure collections compliance
- Perform prescribed collections activities within defined collections policies and treatment strategies and ensure all collections are processed in accordance
- Ensure collections activities prior to and during period end close are compliant with the fiscal close calendar, ensuring adequate time for collaboration with various teams impacted
- Ensure all O2C controls are adhered to and documented appropriately
- Inform colleagues and stakeholders about procedural and regulatory requirements
- Support the implementation of risk management process and associated controls in line with company policies
- Respond to requests from regulatory authorities and auditors
- Collaborate with customers, third parties and other teams
- Establish relationships and credibility within the team as well as other cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with customers on collections-related queries and issues and ensure collections, negotiations and investigations are handled appropriately
- Collaborate with Master Data team for required data points, best practices and standards and data issues
- Collaborate with other SSC process delivery teams to exchange information, as required, and support process improvement where dependencies may exist
- Liaise with stakeholders across the business to ensure requirements are met, for example, to oversee that requests from third-party collections and dunning agents/agencies are actioned by the team in a timely and accurate manner
- Collaborate effectively with external auditors

**Skills & Experience**- 3 years experience in O2C collections operations
- Strong English language skills
- Advanced MS Excel skills with a proven aptitude to interpret customer and financial data
- Strong knowledge of finance business processes, collections policies, treatment strategies, and statutory accounting principles to ensure compliant SSC operations
- Working knowledge of core finance and specifically collections systems, ERP and related specialty functional systems, frameworks, and functionality
